Mahidol University Global Health (MUGH) Activities Summary


COVID-19 Vaccine Monitoring and Digital Health

  • October - December 2021: MUGH collaborated with Nakhon Pathom authorities to develop a COVID-19 vaccination monitoring dashboard. This system helped track vaccination coverage, identify high-risk areas, and enhance public health service efficiency.

  • November 2021 - June 2022: The dashboard was progressively improved, integrating civil registration data, refining data processing systems, and enabling medical personnel to export data for better planning.

  • August 2022: The dashboard went live, allowing public access to real-time vaccination updates. Plans were set to expand it nationally.

Education & Research Development

  • Doctoral Program in Global Health & Health Policy: MUGH worked with seven Mahidol University faculties to develop a Ph.D. program in Health and Sustainable Development, integrating global health research and leadership training.

  • Collaboration with James Cook University (Australia): Establishing a Cotutelle Ph.D. Program, enabling dual-degree opportunities for doctoral students.

  • One Health & ASEAN Primary Health Care Research: MUGH supported research in One Health, Digital Health, and Social Health Protection, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Training & Capacity Building

  • Virtual Short-Course Training: In June 2022, MUGH partnered with the University of Maryland to develop a Scientific Writing short-course to enhance research skills for Southeast Asian researchers.

  • Global Health Leadership Program: In November 2022, MUGH prepared a training program focusing on One Health, Digital Health, SDGs, and Global Primary Health Care to develop future global health leaders.

  • Global Health Equity Webinar: In August 2022, MUGH invited experts from the University of Toronto and University of Maryland to discuss global health equity and policy.

International Collaborations & Networking

  • Asian Global Health Alliance (AGHA): Strengthening regional and global health networks.

  • JICA-Supported Projects: Engaging in elderly care and social health protection initiatives.

  • Juntendo University Partnership: In August 2023, MUGH explored a double-degree program in Global Health with Juntendo University, Japan.

Through these initiatives, MUGH continues to lead in global health research, education, and policy development, reinforcing Mahidol University’s role as a global health academic leader.
